Elite Hoops Basketball Girls AAU Program – FAQ

Q: What is the Elite Hoops Basketball Girls AAU Program?
A:
Our program is designed for girls in grades 3–8 who are looking to develop their basketball skills, grow as teammates, and compete in a supportive and empowering environment. We focus on teaching fundamentals, building confidence, and fostering a love for the game.

Q: Who can participate?
A:
Tryouts are open to girls in grades 3–8. Whether your daughter is a beginner or an experienced player, we welcome athletes of all skill levels.

Q: How does Elite Hoops differ from other AAU programs?
A:

  • We prioritize player development and a family atmosphere.

  • Our program is affordable, so every player has the chance to participate without financial strain.

  • We offer flexibility, encouraging players to balance basketball with other sports and activities.

  • We tailor tournament schedules to match player availability and ensure competitive, appropriate matchups for our teams.

Q: When and where are tryouts held?

  • Exact Date/Time will be dependent upon how many players are registered for each grade level.

Q: What if I can’t make a tryout date?

A: We understand that schedules can be busy! If you’re unable to attend the scheduled tryout dates, please contact us directly at troy@elitehoopsnj.com. We’re happy to arrange an alternative evaluation or provide other options to ensure your daughter has the opportunity to be considered for the program.

Q: What is the cost to join?
A:
  Our program is designed to be affordable and transparent. Costs are divided into two separate fees:

  1. Club Fee: This fee is dependent on the number of players who join the program but is anticipated to be between $250–$400.

  2. Tournament Fee: The initial tournament fee is $150, which covers two tournaments that your player will participate in. For every additional tournament beyond the first two, there is a $50 per tournament fee.

We strive to keep costs manageable while providing a high-quality experience for players and families. Payment plans are available.

Q: How often are practices?
A:
Practices are held 1x per week. We work with families to create a schedule that accommodates other sports and activities. In addition to practices, there will be 2-3 skills only sessions offered each month. The skills sessions are not mandatory, but will be scheduled on different days each time to ensure all players have the opportunity to attend.

Q: What tournaments do you participate in?
A:
We carefully select tournaments based on player availability and skill levels, ensuring appropriate competition that fosters growth and confidence for all athletes. The majority of tournaments are located within a 60 minute drive.

Q: What is the competition level of Elite Hoops teams?
A:
Our program is designed to cater to a variety of skill levels, from beginners to more experienced players. We work hard to create a balanced mix of teams, matching players with teammates and competition that align with their current skill level.

Additionally, rosters will change for each tournament based on player availability, ensuring flexibility for families while still allowing us to build competitive teams for every event. This approach helps us provide a great experience for all players, regardless of their schedule.

Q: Do players have to commit to basketball year-round?
A:
No! We encourage kids to play multiple sports and explore other interests. Our program is designed to be flexible and work around your family’s schedule.

Q: What if my daughter doesn’t make the team?
A:
We strive to include as many players as possible and will provide feedback for growth opportunities. All players who come register to tryout and be evaluated will be offered a spot with Elite Hoops Basketball, however, if during the evaluation process, we see that it may not be the right fit for your athlete, we will discuss this with you and offer alternative opportunities!
